Google Search Results: Biography details in search results

If you perform a search for a person on Google (for example "David Cameron"), the Google search engine results gives you a synopsis of that persons key details on the right hand side.

My question is....drum roll.....how would I go about setting this up for myself? Is this possible or is it solely related to a 'famous' person's Wikipedia profile.

You'd need a lot of authority in order to be integrated into Google's knowledge graph... I could even imagine that only (manually) whitelisted sites' data will be used for it. However, if you plan to appear fancifully in special SERPs, i suggest to take a look at http://schema.org/

If you're hoping to appear there, you'd better be good and active on Google+, and a good number of sites, have authorship set up correctly and an awful lot of authority.

It's not as simple as having a huge following on Google+, or good authority on several known sites, so as Philipp suggests I'd not be the least surprised to find it is manual.
