Domain Authority Goes Down After Https change
-
We just moved our domain from http to https. We have been at a solid 89 for domain authority for the past year, but this month we are now at 88. Does changing to https cause the domain authority to go down and is this just a temporary fluctuation?

Hi Jane,
It is temporary. I had the same issue a year ago and it took 4-6 weeks till all scores and indexes were in place again. Eventually we even got better rankings by making the move to https:.

This might also have nothing to do with the HTTPS switchover - Moz's algorithm is designed to mimic that of Google and if they've made updates to it, it might just be a natural drop in DA.
Have a look at your competitors that are being tracked - have they also fallen in DA?

I agree with Sean! This seems to be a case of Moz updating their information with new data. Your HTTP site was being redirected to HTTPS so on that new run they picked up everything around your new domain.
