Hello, I want to replace the content of one page of our website (already indexeed) and shift its original content to another page. How can I do this without problems like penalizations etc?

      Current situation:

      Page A
      URL: example.com/formula-1
      Content: ContentPageA

      Desired situation:

      Page A
      URL: example.com/formula-1
      Content: NEW CONTENT!

      Page B
      URL: example.com/formula-1-news
Content: ContentPageA (The content that was in Page A!)

Content of the two pages will be about the same argument (& same keyword) but non-duplicate. The new content in page A is more optimized for search engines. How long will it take for the page to rank better?

        Hi there,

What you're suggesting is logical and seems correct to me.
Keep in mind that it might take a few days, even weeks for google to index the new page and realize that both pages are different.

It doesn't asure you that will get better ranks. You should know that. Just updating the content is one of the many things to take action in order to rank higher.

        Hope it helps.
        GR.

If the content of the two pages is related, you might also use an internal link (preferably within the content of the page: e.g. "for more information on KEYWORD"). That will help tell Google you consider ABC the more important/relevant. I still would try to find a closely related keyword for the lesser page if you can; the less keyword cannibalization, the better.

          Liz
