Disavow - websites that don't pull up at all

Hello,

Doing a disavow for a non-manual penguin penalty - doorway pages, paid links.

Many websites do not pull up at all.

What do you do for the different scenerios where a website does not pull up at all?

Hi there.

I'm a little confused - are you simply asking if you should disavow links from websites, which are not live (return 404s, not working)?

If so, I'd say still disavow. The reason would be that if for whatever reason that website come back to life, then you gonna end up with live spammy link. Also, in case of 404s or temporary redirects, Google still "keeps" those links in "mind". Meaning that they wouldn't completely ignore those links, they will check on them once in a while, which could mean that those links are being kept "in mind" as backlinks as well.

So, in general, better safe than sorry

So just to be clear, any site that does not come up (404, times out, etc), go ahead and disavow? All of them even though I don't know what the sites are about? Would I ever keep one? Just double-checking.

I'd say if those domains were spammy and low DA. I assume that these are only domains we are talking about. Cause as I said, it could be temporary error/404/etc.

By domains were spammy you mean the domain name our URL itself. I assume that's what you mean since that's all I have to go on.

I mean domain name. I really doubt there is a way to have not spammy domain, but spammy page.

So, for example, you have a backlink from this page: site.com/page.php

Use MOZ OSE for the whole domain and see what spam score it has. If it's not bad (i say lower than 4) - don't disavow link.
