Can the Lightboxes on My Site be Crawled?
-
I'm trying to optimize my site, but I have lightboxes and I don't know if they are visible to the search engines. If they aren't, could you suggest something that I could do? THANK YOU so much!!!!!
My site is lymphexpo.com

Hi Stephen,
That's pretty easy to check. Just type this in the browsers address bar:
cache:lymphexpo.com
Then click 'Text version' and you can see exactly how Google sees your site.
Then check if your lightbox content is visible.

Are you saying that because I've got information in lightboxes, it is by definition hidden from Search Engines? And if this is the case, is there anything I can do about it? Thanks.

Thanks! I tried this but the site is so new, it hasn't been cached yet. I will look again soon. If the content isn't visible, what do you recommend? Thanks.

Hi Josh,
I'm a little over my head on this topic, and I'm a little confused. What is duplicated across my site now?

Oh, do you mean the disclaimer? I can take that out of the about section, and it will only appear on the front of the site. I guess I wasn't clear what I was talking about. If you select a category on the front page, the click on a company, then a lightbox opens up with a video and other info about their company.
