Does Auto-posting Schedulued Posts to Facebook via 3rd party tools have reduced reach ?

Hi,

Does anyone know latest up to date info re potential downside of using 3rd party social posting tools (such as Buffer and Hootsuite etc) in regard to reduced post reach ?

I remember hearing a while back that some independent marketing labs/testers had established that auto-posting from 3rd party tools did result in much reduced reach for those posts.

Can anyone confirm if this is definately the case or not ? If so i take it one should use FB own post scheduling features ?

I personally believe this is the case, when I used to schedule via a tool I had created myself, my spontaneous posts (not scheduled) always had a better reach. However this is just going from a couple of relatively small (20,000 likes) pages.

I've actually experienced greater views / interaction, based on the sole premise you send more content / are more active via scheduling than you ever can be manually. It's just not practical anymore to post manually throughout the day unless it's spur of the moment type things, there is normally a thousand and one other things requiring that focus / attention your posting would normally take up.

I have wondered if maybe it's more about timing and frequency than anything else. Posting outside your timezone for other timezones peak interaction times is crucial as well I believe.

I agree with you that scheduling is better but is it better to schedule via Facebook scheduler or a 3rd party tool, does the 3rd party posts have reduced reach as compared to scheduled posts via FB own tool. (As i have heard they do)

I will be scheduling one way or the other, and ideally using Buffer etc since already set up but i thought i would review the current landscape of opinion regarding this matter before proceeding. If 3rd party posts have reduced reach i will likely use FB instead, since with FB organic reach dropping all the time anyway we obviously all want as much of what little organic reach remains

Opinions of others still definately welcome ?
