Is it still necessary to have a "home" page button/link in the top nav?

Or is it not necessary to have a "home" tab/link because everybody by this time knows you can get to the home page by clicking on the logo?

I don't think you need to have it but again you need to look at your target market and see if you feel they will know this. If you're selling digital marketing your market is going to be very different than say selling craft product.

Maybe ask some clients if they know the logo takes them to the home page. Again it's very much a personal choice.

Thanks, yes, I agree it depends on my audience... and the average age of the web visitors is one of the components that should be considered.  The older visitors would probably still like the "home" button; the younger ones probably know that the logo is the home page link.
