Tools to identify link type

Hey guys,

Just wondering if you anyone knows of any tools which can identify link type e.g. guest post, forum post, blog comment, directory, etc.

One tool i used in the past was link detective which seems to be no longer running.

Does anyone know of any other alternatives?

Screaming Frog won't give you what you are looking for, but check out Majestic as they will give you a classification, but it isn't going to give you what you want - I am not sure Ahrefs will either, or OSE.

What might be worth trying is talking to the guys at URL Profiler and asking if you were to upload a list of URL's, if it would classify them in this way. I haven't tried so I don't know.

I just spoke to Patrick from URL Profiler on Twitter and here is what he said:

@iQSEOUK Yep the link audit/analysis does this. Input linking URLs on the right, then put your domain in the box at the bottom.

Go and get URL profiler and watch some demos on how to do this

I'd suggest Cognitive SEO for this..

I'm personally using it and quite satisfied with the results.
