You appear to be considering easy options on backlinks - there are none left really, it is just plain old fashioned hard work. Make sure you know where every backlink you have comes from. That should be your starting point. Do not buy off link farms, ie you have posed a question which is a recipe for disaster.  There is plenty of information out there on this topic.  Google "penguin penalty" and you will learn some more.

If you really want to get smashed by Google and ruin your site's reputation, go ahead! I agree it can yield "VERY" short term benefits but it's not a worth investing option, it's really not.

Take John's suggestions seriously and avoid this stuff.

As per the previous two points, please do not look into using back link services, in the long run they are simply going to do you more harm than good. So avoid like the plague.

Try to focus on generating genuine relationships and create rich content that is tailored to your user base. If you create great engaging content you will inevitably start to gather naturally earned links which is what it is now all about!
