We have three different domains for geotargeting  (za,uk and .com). Each site at at the moment has the same content with only country specific details changed like currency etc.

What is the best way to get maximum SEO benefit when posting new content. When we post new content should we repost to all three domains (the same content) or will Google only index the url on the domain which is crawled first.

      Thanks in advance

        Hi there

I would check out the following resources:
        International SEO (Moz)
        The International SEO Checklist (Moz)

...for reasons of proper tagging and targeting.

I would also heavily consider your audience. What I mean by that is users have different intentions when searching for the same products, and that tends to extrapolate when you add a regional element to it. I might not find the same content as someone in the UK or South Africa beneficial, and vice versa. You have to be mindful of how your audience is different in different regions, so make sure that the content, if not anywhere else then make it the blog, is targeted and unique to the regions it's supposed to be reaching.

If you're an eCommerce site, I highly suggest this resource from InFlow.

That would be my main focus - develop content for specific regions so they feel like it speaks to them. If you have three sites, keep the branding consistent, tag them properly, but give a personalized regional experience to each.

Hope this helps - good luck!

One tip I would give is to vary the content programatically. I know most people say this is a no-no with SEO, but it can be used effectively in a situation like this. If you could write a script that would replace words with localized words that could help. Like for example US people call them sunglasses, but people in AU call them sunnies a lot. Things like that so you can localize the language. It won't give you a huge boost, but I have seen it help.

            Hello aquaspressovending,

A good person for you to follow would be Aleyda Solis. To answer your question, it is relatively safe to repurpose content across different pages, subdomains or even domains if done properly for different countries.

You can choose a canonical version (e.g. the US version or UK version...) and connect the rest using a rel alternate href lang tag, which is explained in the checklist Patrick linked to above.
