Squarespace or Wordpress for a Photographer
-
Hi,
I was wondering if people would recommend squarespace or wordpress for a photographer. I'm mainly curious about how wordpress uses internal links for their images and squarespace images exist on http://static1.squarespace.com. Wouldn't a photographers website, one that focuses on images, be better on wordpress for this readson?

Hi,
IMO if you are a one person team or don’t have the dedicated resources to help you build, maintain or troubleshoot a website, I would recommend trying Squarespace.
You can also check comparison between WP & Squarespace @ http://www.websitebuilderexpert.com/squarespace-vs-wordpress/
Hope this helps.
Thanks

I would personally go with Square Space if the photographer is going to do everything himself. It is a lot easier to maintain and a lot less work in the end. Wordpress is easy, but it can also start getting really complicated quickly as well.

Wordpress tries really hard to be a CMS but it's really not much more than a blog with some page management thrown in. The only advantage WP has here is that it's free.
If you're a professional photographer then you need a photographer website. Don't try to cut corners. if you were a woodworker I would tell you to buy a circular saw over a hand saw. Get the professional website that is built to showcase your talent.
