Google Analytics shows wrong position
-
1 For a particular targeted keyword Google Analytic shows Avg position as 20 for 10 Impresions . On the other hand other Tools like Rank Tracker/Authority Labs shows no Ranking at all . When I Manually check Google results, that particular page is not listed at all in Google Search for that particular keyword in Top 400 search Results.
Its almost 30-40 days back done Optimization for that keyword, no Keyword stuffing (2%) or nothing blackhat. Keyword has just 300+ search per month . MOZ and other Tools like MyWebsite Auditor shows no major issues with On Page SEO , overall good score for onpage SEO .
Any one has any ideas as why this happens or happened to someone before .
Thanks

It's actually not the wrong position. Someone, for some reason, saw it at that spot. It could be that you have a few Google+ connections or the keywords are hyperlocal and thus someone who's VERY close to the target location could find it? Whatever it is, I always see these type of confusing scenarios in my reports. I once had searches for "facebook" coming to me but it ended up my 1000 Google+ fans were seeing it after I wrote a post about Facebook advertising and linked it. I was ranking #2 (on their computer) for the word Facebook. lol

Thanks for your answer Matt.
Page not even listed in Google at all for a less competitive keyword like 400 search, inspite being Onpage Optimized for that keyword is that something normal as well ?

I would try searching your site like site:yourdomain.com in Google to make sure you're indexed. Check your robots.txt and your meta robots tag to ensure you aren't blocking the page for some reason. Then check that it's linked to that page in your site via links that are not nofollow.
After that it would mainly depend on competitiveness, depth of the competitor sites and link building, title & onsite SEO. I can take a look if you post the URL or if it's private, PM me.

Allright cool . I will have a look into those as suggested and get back to you.
Thanks for your help .
