How to I calculate the traffic amount for a competitors website folder?
-
Hi Guys,
I am wondering if anyone here knows how I would calculate the traffic amount for a competitors website folder?
(eg) kbc.ie/personal/mortgages
I can get the traffic for kbc.ie and also for it's subdomains but I cannot split it by folder.
Does anyone know a way or tool that can do this please?
I have MozPro and also SEMRush and have also tried SimilarWeb.
Any clues would be great.
Thanks,
Aidan

You could always try Alexa. They're paid but they might give you a breakdown like that.
If not, there's no way to know without their server logs and/or analytics.

Hi Aidan. When it comes to figuring out precise traffic levels, there's really no other way to do it than have access to their analytics. That said, here are two other posts on the same topic that I recently answered that should help you out.
-
infer some traffic amounts when you're tracking keyword rankings
-
get a good idea of how much engagement or traction a competitor is getting from social via tools
-
you're going to be missing a lot of data by not knowing how well they're doing in terms of email marketing, social, referrers, etc.
Cheers!

Pull the site stop searches via semrush.com. With that report then take everything out except for the landing pages and traffic % columns. Now consolidate all the duplicate pages and sum the traffic % using the excel consolidation feature. You'll be left with the top landing pages sorted by estimated search traffic %.
It's not perfect but it's not a bad estimate either... especially if they have a lot of data available via SEMRush.
