No-index part of page
-
Hi John,
Can I ask why you would want to 'copy articles' from another source? What value will you be providing to your readers if the articles are available elsewhere, especially on really high authority sites like the ones you mention?
Surely a better way would be to provide content of genuine interest and value to your readers. Also, I presume that the sites you mention will also have copyrighted content on their site so it may not be a great long-term strategy for you.

We all would like a way for Google to ignore a certain part of page, but no there is no option for now to do it like that. Next to that I agree with Brendan on checking if there is any value at all to do this.

Hi there,
It will be timeline, I want to show for my users full content without getting punished. there is way? maybe Link to the source? -
This post is deleted! -
You'll definitely need to add a link to the source anyway but even so, I'd carefully check the terms and conditions of the sites you mentioned to see whether they allow this.
If you're adding a timeline, I presume it won't be updated very often so I'd really urge you to create your own content rather than take it from another source. It sounds like a very risky strategy to me.

sorry, this is not my question...
there is way to say for google - don't index this lightbox?? -
Hi John,
The answer of both Martijn and Brendan is correct - there is currently no way to tell Google not to index a part of a page.
If you want to present external content in a lightbox the best ways to do so would be to
- put a noindex on the page where you put the lightbox
- put a canonical url on your page - pointing to the original source.
A more elaborate way would be to create a separate page on your site that contains only the external content that you want to put in the lightbox and put this page as noindex. Then you call this page in an iframe in the lightbox. I am not an expert in lightboxes - apparently not all of them are capable to call an iframe - these ones do http://fancybox.net/, http://colorpowered.com/colorbox/ and probably a lot of others as well if you google it.

Thanks all!

Hi Again,
I Don't have URL for the lightbox :|. -
In that case you will have to install/use another type of light box - the two examples I menitioned offer the possibility to integrate iframes.
