Different meta descriptions for same page

Hi

Depending what terms I put into Google I am seeing a different meta description for exactly the same page. I have checked Umbraco CMS and everything seems in working order.

Is there a reason this would be happening? Anyone else had trouble like this?

Hi,

Google uses your Meta description pretty much as a recommendation. It will use its own description to suit the keywords searched by the user.

Dr. Pete has some good info about Meta Descriptions Here On Moz, most notably to your question is his last suggestion at the bottom leave it alone.

What difference in the meta description do you see ? Is the SERP page showing up different meta description that the one you have entered ? Or, SERP is showing different meta description when you search for "yourdomainname.com" and "search terms" ?

I would suggest you to manually check with the meta description from the source code to see if it is the same meta description you are using.
