If I'm understanding this correctly, you're serving both www. and non-www. versions of the website, which is causing duplicate content?

If so, you'll want to pick one (either www. or non-www. and 301 one to another). What this means is, if you have www.example.com/my-page and example.com/my-page and want to reduce duplicate content and keep the www., you'll 301 redirect example.com/my-page to www.example.com/my-page. You can also use the canonical tag for this.

I second the use of Yoast's WordPress SEO plugin.  For google specifically, you can specify which version (www or non-www) you want to use in Webmaster tools.
