Online Brand Reputation Managment
-
Hi,
I have a client that has asked me to help with their online brand reputation management - I'm familiar with Google Alerts and also the more popular 'free' social media listening tools however I'd love to know what tools you guys recommend (they don't have to be free ones) and what process you follow.
Thanks,
Ben

If the site you're looking to move out of the top results is a big site (newspaper, etc.) you likely won't be able to do it.
Unfortunately, we've found that Google seems to use some sort of sentiment analysis to keep a mix of good & bad on page 1 if good & bad both exist. Â We've spent a LOT of time (and money) trying to figure out a way around this but the fact is, if there's good AND bad, you're likely going to see both.
If the site is less difficult to move, what you're going to start with is some profiles, web 2.0, etc. just to see what takes.

Try talkwalker and mention.net if you just want to monitor keywords and brands.

Hi Ben,
I'm a big fan of Talkwalker.com, it seems to work better than Google Alerts for me these days. There is a free version which allows you to give it a try and a paid version which lets you check more keywords.
Of course there is also Fresh Web Explorer which tends to spot mentions pretty quickly as well.
I've never used it myself but I've heard good things about Sprout Social which has a social media monitoring feature as well as a bunch of other things too.
I hope those help!
Paddy
