      Hi

We are having an issue whereby we are getting loads of duplication errors (page titles etc) however when we look deeper into the issues it is because Moz is pulling through www and non www versions of the website. We also get these issues when URLs end with or without the / (but have either been fixed in the HT Access file or in Google Webmaster Tools).

Is there any way for these pages NOT to get pulled through in MOZ as errors? Is there a simple setting we have missed when setting up the campaigns for our clients? Or is there something else?

We have done site searches on Google and have definitely found NO EVIDENCE of the non www appearing or URLS showing both / and no / at the end of the URL.

      Many Thanks

      Liam

All instances of duplicate URLs with/without WWW and with/without the trailing slash have all been redirected to their correct version? If they exist and aren't redirected then they are essentially duplicates of each other. Just because they aren't in site searches on Google doesn't mean the pages don't exist improperly, it just means that Google has chosen not to index those versions. If the pages haven't been redirected to their proper URLs, you may want to look into doing that in order to consolidate any potentially lost link equity.

Somewhere in your site, you probably have a links pointing to both www and non www or moz would not have found both, fix those links and your problem should go away

Moz isn't able to access your Google Webmaster Tools setting, so we're reporting on what we see on your site.

I'd agree with the other guys here: just because GWT does not find an error does not mean there is one. What Google usually does in these situations is choose one version over another, so if you Google your site - even using the site: search modifier - you'll only see the one they've chosen. On the other hand  Moz's crawler goes through your site and reports on everything it finds, which in this case means it's a factual statement that there's a way to move from the www. version of your site to the non-www. version.

The first thing you need to do is find out which page on the wrong version (which I'll assume to be the non-www. versions or versions with trailing slashes ) is being linked to from the right version (which I'll assume to be www. without a trailing slash) and where that link is. If you use a link crawler like Xenu's Link Sleuth you should be able to do that. Then you can go and remove the troublesome link(s) and all your errors will disappear.
