Blog.domain or domain.com/blog
-
My client can't do domain.com/blog because he's on wix. I'm thinking blog.domain.com. Do you have any resources for the pros and cons of this? I understand that google looks at them very similarly now, is that true for google +?

You should be able to establish authorship for a single author relatively easily. The hack appears to be setting up a Google Apps account for the domain. But yes, a subdomain should work as well. It works on site.wordpress.com.

I would use domain.com/anythingbutblog because there are tons of scrapers and spammers who are crawling the web for /blog/ so they can grab your content and publish it immediately, so they can spam your comments, so they can try to break into your site if you don't keep your updates current.

Domain.com/blog is generally preferred, but if you can't do that then a subdomain should be fine.

Google number consider sub domain as part of the domain so this shouldn’t be a problem for Google plus just verify your author for the blog and it will work fine.
I don’t see any problem with that!!

Hi Tyler,
There shouldnt be any problems with this, especially with Google+.
If that's your only option, then that subdomain is fine. There are a lot of great sites that use that kind of url structure.
