Great site wide link or maybe not?

A client has done come work with company who has added there widget / link back to there website, at first thought this is great, but it has been added on the template so is site wide - which poses the question could this cause problems?

Hello Scott,

According to Google Link Schemes, Google consider these links as unnatural links as according to Google Link Scheme guidelines they stated as "Widely distributed links in the footers or templates of various sites" are considered as unnatural.. Therefore they can harm you website's ranking..

In addition, http://www.jwsltd.co.uk/ has a 0 PageRank. In Google's eyes, you are getting hundreds of unnatural links from a low quality site.
