Where to start with this site?

I would start with focusing as much time as possible on fixing the site. Including technical issues and your canonical issues (www redirect, too)
Im not familiar with your internet laws though so I can't recommend any aggressive work. I would just start looking at existing competitors, see what they are doing (use OSE for one) to know what's working for them, and then apply a similar but better strategy. Combine this with other link building strategies and you will be just fine. If they arent doing any seo, then you should see faster results. BTW, since you are new, don't overuse your anchor text ok? Good luck!

Thanks Dennis,
I think that may be part of the problem. When you got to each location, that side bar is on every page so must have over a thousand links all saying [location] escorts.
We have seen some decent results but then also some drops after adding content and the correct format for meta titles and descriptions on the location pages.
Got about 3 and a half years SEO experience, but only 3 months in the Adult Industry! Hopefully being completely "white hat" will prevail whereas many sites in the industry are about 'Fifty Shades of Grey"!!
Thanks again Dennis

whoops! Sorry if i offended you, I thought you were new as a lot of people asking are kinda new to SEO. Im really sorry about that!
It is tricky especially in the adult niche but for escort niches, usually, from what Ive worked on, isnt as hard as the porn sites who hammer the hell out of their sites with blackhat tactics.
Good luck with the fixes and I wish you and the company much success.
