Your content is almost exact in all 3 pages, let me ask you this

Why do you need to have 3 pages with such a slight variation in the url when all three pages give you the ability to choose the carrier in the list which already shows "Optus Australia"?

What pages do you link to these pages from?

        http://www.unlockiphonecarrier.com/unlock-iphone-optus-australia/

        and

        http://www.unlockiphonecarrier.com/unlock-iphone-5-optus-australia/

Just trying to understand your structure, if you are just using light variations of URLS for keyword purposes I would not recommend doing that.

I created 3 different pages thinking different keyword for each page

          Keyword targeting

          1st page : Unlock iPhone 5

2nd page : Unlock iPhone Optus Australia

3rd page : Unlock iPhone 5 Optus Australia

Yes you can select any carrier/model using any page, logically i wouldn't need 3 pages, but  thinking in terms of SEO wouldn't it be better to have 3 different pages for 3 different keywords? (Of course I need to make content different, not getting any idea of what to put 😛 )

Right now there are no links to the 2nd and 3rd page from anywhere, but I was thinking of creating pages for different countries and then linking them in these pages. The countries page would be linked from another page in the primary navigation.

The problem is it is an e-commerce site where in content is usually the same everywhere 😞

There is no point in creating those 3 pages with slight keyword variations when you already have all the keywords you need on your main URL.  Just make sure your content has the keywords you need and leave it at that.

3 pages with the same content but different keyword URL's looks spammy

Build your site for your users and Google will bless you for it 🙂

Agreed build for users 😉 How about I change content on these pages and then target individually?

And anything on that rel="canonical" tag, if i were to keep those pages, how should I go about it?

If you can provide some unique content and information for each one of these cities/countries then go for it, write away. I cant think of what you can write about, but that's why you do what you do 🙂

If not then I would just leave it at that.

As an out sider with an iPhone looking in the only thing I would care about your site would be

                • Can you unlock my phone
                • how much?
                • and how long?

                And you provide that already.

We are all guilty of the old SEO practices and mindset, (I know I am) its a hard habit to break sometimes 🙂

Exactly! The pages have all the required info for a user but in terms of SEO it sucks 😄

anyway thanks for your answers and time 😉

What cesar is trying to say and i would agree is this.....If the content is relevant to everyone then don't create three pages with the same content as this is "duplicate content"

If you are targeting different countries that don't speak English then simply use "ccTLD". Other wise it doesn't really matter where your site is. You can also geo target your site in webmaster tools and it will show your page in you area and country more, yet it is still not limited to that.

Lastly your content doesn't seem to have a need to include keywords like "australia" or "city name"  other than to say where you are from which can be done in the footer. Including those keywords come in big for local services or restaurants or things of that nature.

If the content is general then I advise you to do these things:

                    • Geo target your site in webmaster tools
                    • Add you location to your footer (as detailed as you want to get)
                    • Link to other relevant sites in your country or city
                    • And Let google bing an yahoo do the rest.
                    • Oh and delete the extra pages!

If it is a local service (i just now looked at your site!) do this:

                    • Again Delete the extra pages
                    • Geo target your site is webmaster tools
                    • Link to relevant sites
                    • and include location based keywords to content
                    • Again let the search engines do the rest

Otherwise you are simply creating  dup content and making things much harder on yourself. It really is that simply. Once you get started with that and fix the duplicate content issues moz web app will show you other areas to improve if you have any.

                    Happy SEOing!

Geo targeting using webmaster tool supports only one country 😞

The site isn't local to a specific country/region so I cannot use Geo targeting.

What exactly will be the advantage of adding my location when my business isn't local?

Link to other relevant sites like iPhone related blogs or news sites?

So the whole point is those extra pages will not do me any good in terms of Organic Search, Am I correct?

What should I do if I wanna target both the keywords like unlock iPhone 5 and Unlock iPhone 5 Optus? People may not search much for Optus but they do search lots for AT&T

Rephrasing my question how should I go about these two keywords unlock iPhone 5 and unlock iPhone 5 AT&T?

Okay, now I have a better picture of what your site actually is. Being in the U.S. myslef i have never heard of Optus and thought it was a city in Australia! My bad, lol!

Now I also know that you are not a local service. Therefore i guess it doesn't matter if you Geo target your site or not.

Those issues cleared up, now on to whats left.

You are correct, those extra pages will not do you any good, only hurt you in the end.

Also correct about linking to other pages like iphone related blogs and news sites.

You have a tricky site to to target the keywords you are looking for, it is a little beyond my scope at the moment as i most deal with local business'. that being said i would still advise creating articles and blog posts and even trying to guest post about your service. I would also advise improving your content. More specifically the layout. I see a lot of sentences. Maybe combine some or add to some. If you are trying to reach the australia optus market start looking for blogs and sites related to iphone optus an "get involved" with the suggestions i mentioned above.

I need to go watch a movie with my girlfriend now! feel free to ask any more questions.

remember its all about being natural and that things take time.
