Hotel Booking Engine Hosting and SEO
-
Our company hosts a booking engine that feeds to a lot of hotel properties in our area. We also own and run a site that is competing for a lot of the hotel related keywords.
We are wondering if there would be a benefit (and how much) to moving that booking engine to be hosted on that site that is competing for the hotel related keywords. On a subdomain would be easiest.
Has anyone ever dealt with something like this before? I imagine it would help from an inbound link perspective since all these hotels will be pulling information from that site and when someone books it would send them to a page on that site, but could it also be seen as an outbound link from that site which might help the property sites?
Any help with this would be really appreciated.

We handle resort/hotel sites with different engines, From a link and ranking standpoint in the travel space I don't see a benefit to use the engine content/links to help you rank.
Sure you can pop some links in there but nothing that will let you compete in Travel. Yes you will get some inbound links but not quality links and a lot of engine stuff does not get indexed.
Then you are looking at duplicate content as well across all sites using the engine, this can be a crusher for you.
IMO the only purpose of the engine is to take the user through the booking process period. (and that is a science in itself to get people to convert)

i also run a hundred hotel sites that has that, it doesnt really matter SEO wise. I would test it and look into conversions instead. Good luck!
