If they are deleted domains, most likely, after buying them and having your name servers the PR will be gone to 0.

Few things going on here.

If they are PR4 and not in use, there is likely a reason for that and they are probably somewhat tainted. You could likely get this overthrown if you are buying them for genuine purposes by putting in a reconsideration request in.

That said, there was a recent Matt Cutts video where he advised against this:

I would at the very least do your homework.

1. Find out what used to be on the domain (wayback machine)

2. Search for backlinks to the domain

3. Look at citations and the history

At the very least, as Matt says in his video, do some research and don't be the sucker that buys a spammy domain!
