What period of time do OSE social media metrics represent?
-
When one hovers over the social media metrics in Open Site Explorer the popups say that the numbers represent the total number of times the URL has been posted, liked, tweeted or +1'd.
Those numbers are [appear to be] more dynamic than the data in OSE's other reports and seem to get a fresh analysis each time the URL is entered.
So I'm wondering what period of time is it counting in it's "total number of times" determination? If I'd like to track the data to get an idea of, say, total number of Facebook Shares for a one month period, how often should I check the numbers?

Correct, those social metrics are getting pulled directly from the API for each social service, so unless SEOMoz has applied a slight time delay or cache, the only delay is the one from Facebook, Twitter, or Google. To my knowledge, that's pretty close to immediate.
If you want to compare social shares month-over-month, just check it 30 days later and it'll be correct.
The other OSE data can be tracked back to the last index update on the update calendar. The last index update was from May 1, but it represents crawl data from roughly Jan to mid-March IIRC. The update next week should be much more "fresh."

Hi BlastAM,
Have you tried http://sharedcount.com.
It's working very good for me. And the updates look to be instant.
