After I make corrections of my crawl diagnostics report, how can I tell is those corrections "took". Is there a way to immediatly refresh that report. Will it eventually refresh?'

click on "research tools" on the very top navigation.  From the research tools page click on the page grader.  From here you can run it over again and the info will update.

If you are talking about the crawler for site errors. That crawler has a 48 hour caching period so you need to wait 2 days before running a manual web crawl.
