One landing page with lots of content or content hub?

Interested in getting some opinions on if it's better to build one great landing page with tons of content or build a good landing page and build more content (as blog posts?) and interlink them back to the landing/hub page?
Thoughts and opinions?

I'd go with the second option. First off, from a user experience standpoint, nobody wants to read EVERYTHING. Having lot's of pages means they can choose for themselves. Also, using multiple pages allows you to create unique metadata addressing multiple keywords. This gives you a better chance at ranking for long-tail phrases, which can sometimes be more valuable than the so called "money" keywords.

It's better to have additional pages each page targeting slightly different variations (power centers) - the main page targets the main keyword phrase and the internal pages target the longer tail keywords IE:
main page "gift baskets"
internal pages "corporate gift baskets" "birthday gift baskets"
That being said, it's only good to have content distributed on internal pages if you have enough content to justify that (500-600 words per page) sites with 250 words or so of flimsy content get hit by Panda.
