What Is he Difference Between Google UK and Google Great Britain
-
When setting up a campaign for keywords and selected search engines. I am targeting a UK market so obviously Google.co.uk is my main target.
However when I set up the campaign i select Google as the SE but it asks me if I want United Kingdom or Great Britain.
I selected United Kingdom and it has been returning 0 results for rankings even though I can physically see them in the SERPS. Does anyone know exactly what is the difference between the UK and GB options.
I assume I should of specified GB but not sure.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I remember a member of the SEOmoz team explaining that it was an issue with their system and both Great Britain and United Kingdom yield identical results. It is just two names for one Google.
I think they are looking into this further.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for confirming that for me, just wanted to check.
Thanks

Don't know if this is relevant, the united kingdom is Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales. Great Britian is Scotland, England and Wales. Ireland is not part of Great Britian. I have no idea if Google looks at it this way. Hope this helps. Andy

Ireland is neither part of the United Kingdom or "Great" Britain!
@Dan & Paul, thanks for that.

Nothern Ireland is in the UK though, just not Eire.
UK
- England
- Scotland
- Wales
- Northern Ireland
GB
- England
- Scotland
- Wales

They don't actually yield the same results all the time. Can anyone clear this up?

Glad someone else asked this question, thanks for clarification.
