Some ideas & advice on Brand Marketing

Hi all just wanted to bounce some ideas about now that i finally have the opportunity do some real SEO and not that crappy link building :-), so a company i work for informed me by chance that they are sponsoring a celebrity athlete & are going to be at an expo with the athlete, I was like wow you did not think to tell me sooner, answer we did not think it mattered, lmfao are you kidding :-), so any way they do not have a great budget but I am thinking along the lines of press releases and some well placed articles & i want some ideas on where the best places to put them would be?.

For the press release i am thinking come along meet the celeb have a photo, he wears the brand e.c.t & for the articles the brand sponsors bla bla + plus a few word from stating how happy he is to sponsored e.c.t e.c.t.

Id be really happy to hear any other recommendations as this is the first time that have had something to get my teeth in to in a long time, Kind of brings you back to life.

I would personally definitely do a meet & greet competition. Set-up the competition within Facebook so the contestants will have to "like" the brand page first before being able to apply. Also, still create some press releases and definitely mention within that there is competition available to win a meet & greet.

I've done something similar in the past, and the amount of new social media followers I gained was quite impressive.
