How many links can i do in a day

Hi, I built a niche site yesterday, the domain was 1 week old. What is the safest way to do link building? I.e How many links should i do in order to be in safe? So far, i've concentrated on building my social profile. Like getting as many retweets as possible. Slowly getting facebook likes and added few youtube videos with my link in it. Now i am on to link building. I will only do legit link building methods. Currently i am gonna get 2 press releases. But can you tell me no. of links i must get in a day.

PS: The keyword i am competing is highly competitive.

In my opinion is not the number of links that is important but the type of links.

You an build 10k a day if those links are good and without a pattern. If you do go and "help" those links to be build then you should take a few things in consideration:

• sources and type of links should be very diffrent

• the amount of links should be un-balanced as number per day (one day 5, one day 1, one day 90 and so on)

• the anchor text is very important - it needs to vary a lot (I would say the anchor text should be brand, brand + keyword, long tail keyword, anchor texts like "more", "here" etc and some keyword basd links but in a small ratio overall)

• also build no follow links

• links that target inner pages should be correlated with fresh content on those inner pages. links to new inner pages should "die out" slowly over time (focus on a higher number of links in thebegining and cut the number down in time)

• links should not have a comercial intent overall if possibile. or if they do - no follow those.

• press release type of links should be overall, as number, a very tiny ratio of the overal link you build.

• stay away for links that are "hosted" on sites that also host links for sites that are clearly focus on link building (that have a bad link profile) as you will be flagged only by doing that.

Just some short opinion overall - hope it helps and hope you can extract some advice from the above list.

If the links are varied and built legitimately, they will look natural and so you will be OK.

I'm not sure you can put a number on what is OK or not though
