Minimum desired for Domain Authority and Page Authority
-
I see messages and threads talking about the less importance on PageRank and more importance on Domain Authority and Page Authority.
As I work on our link building, do I steer away from low DA and PA websites? If so, whats the minimum threshold I should stay away from?
If I see a site that has a Domain Authority as low as 9 - is that the minimum? What is?
What do you think?

A link from any site that is relevant can offer a benefit to your site. Even if the immediate SERP benefit is low right now, the linking site can improve over time. The link can broaden your site's link profile, improve key phrase targeting through proper use of anchor text, and provide direct traffic to your site.
With the above noted, DA and PA are logarithmically calculated so a link with higher DA/PA is definitely preferred. The challenge is the best sites often may be reluctant to link to you. There are no hard and fast numbers. The only suggestion I can offer is to focus your efforts on the best sites which may be willing to link to your pages. Doing such will maximize your efforts.
If I could offer one additional comment, I would also focus on sites at least 2 levels above your current DA/PA. Again, any link can offer value but to maximize your growth this can be a rough guideline.

What do you mean by two levels?
