Links from Directory's

I have been looking at the Directory's recommended on the SEOMOZ site. All of those that I have looked into do not appear to have a page rank for the actual page that my link would be appearing on. They all appear to offer N/A as the reply.Is this a problem?

Are the pages indexed in Google? If you don't see any PR it's probably not worth buying.

Yep I agree with Irving, especially with all the deindexing Google has been doing recently, I check everything is in Google's index before parting with the cash!

A quick way to check the last time the page has been indexed is to type 'cache:http://www.url.com' into Google. The more recently it's been indexed, the better.

Most directories are not worth your time or money for link building purposes.  Some of them are still good for Local Search.  Most of the time you're better off using a Local Search product like ExpressUpdate, Localeze, UBL, or Axiom for these, since it's not worth your time to go and manually submit to 300+ directories.
