Added to product title showing the discount, will it affect the product rankings?

I've added the savings info to a few products to see if I get any more visits from google merchant, example; After Party | Save £5.40. will it harm the products ranking or merchant feed?

I think you would get more click-throughs by adding microformats and reviews to your product pages - like this.
The merchant feed specifications are quite strict about not including promotional context in your title (such as "free shipping").

Do you have any evidence that microformats increases CTR? My guess is it does, just looking for something more concrete.
If your product is in multi currencies how would you code that in microformats?

Yes it does improve CTR on organic search. Regular product pages rely on the content Google crawls (i.e. title and description).
With the hproduct spec you will get price, availability, product category bread-crumb and review information - i.e. your search result will stand out from everyone else.
I have only worked with hproduct and single offers, but I would say that the offeraggregate would allow you to cater for different currencies. A good starting point is http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=146750
Don't use microformats. Microdata/Schema.org is your first choice but RDFa works just as well.
