If your domain name is a exact match keyword and you have a really high percentage of your links with the anchor text of that keyword, are you at high risk of getting penalized by Penguin or does Google's algorithm adjust for this. For example if your site name was AuethenticBaseballJerseys.com and people usually linked to your site at "Authentic Baseball Jerseys".

      Thanks!

Google shouldn't penalise you if that is legitimately your brand name, however the example that you have given looks very suspect. I've be very careful with focusing your link profile anchor text to just a small number of phrases, as it looks un natural.

It's better to come up with an awesome brand name/identity that consumers will love, then invest in the right areas online to succeed - that's the best way to go about it in the long run!

In short, yes. You're much more likely to get penalised by Google (particularly Penguin) as the natural links you'll gain will link with your keywords in the anchor text.

You'd have to produce lots of varied content that would naturally attract a wide variety of anchor texts to over come this.

Also exact match domains are only good at targeting a handful of keywords. Sites that gain the most from SEO get traffic from a huge variation of keywords.
