Google description showing latest post excerpt

In doing a search for our website, The Tech Block, I realized that our description is not showing what we have in our Yoast settings, but rather the content from the slider:

What can I do to fix this?

I checked the source of your site and the description tag is empty...

Do you need to publish your changes?

I don't see  at all in the source code. The changes are published on Yoast...

Could really use some help.

I've filled and published a description, for some reason it's not showing up in Google search...

Google wont display it until they crawl your site again but when I go to your website thetechblock.com and clear my cashe and view your source (Ctrl U) there is now no description at all.

I can't figure out for the life of me why that's happening. I have everything filled out properly in Yoast....

Hey I see you got it fixed!  Good job!  What was the issue?

After a lot of pain, we figure out some of the issues. Problem is that Google hasn't seemed to index everything we've fixed. My guess is that it's just a matter of time?
