Just noindexed and redirected junk from my site. Now what?
-
Hi to all!
I've just finished 301 redirecting some pages and "noindex - follow" some other.
I have to add a lot of canonicals yet, but this is a start.
Now how I check the results? Should I wait a week or so to see if something improves?
How long does it takes for Google to remove the pages I've just redirected and noindexed?
My site is crawled every day (as all sites I guess).
Thanks!

While Google does crawl most sites daily, the amount of each site crawled is determined largely by the site's popularity (i.e. links). It may take a month for Google to crawl all the pages you changed.
**Now how I check the results? **
You can check by searching in Google's index. You can search for a term and see what URL is provided in the results. If Google has crawled the 301'd page, then the new target page should appear in the results. If Google has seen the "noindex" tag, then the page should no longer appear in search results.

You can also use the "Fetch as google" in Webmaster tool, submit your sitemap for index,, it takes a day to get the results back brom the crawler. The number of submissions are limited to 10/month.
