Article Marketing For Link Building
-
Just wanted to get a discussion going about the effectiveness of article marketing for building links. All of my content will be decent and unique.
I will submit to the following 10 directories:
- Ezine
- Buzzle
- Goarticles
- Article Dashboard
- Sooperarticles
- Helium
- Articlebase
- Articlealley
- Isnare
- Article City
Of course, varied anchor text and relevant content to my various niches. I just want to know if this is still an effective link building strategy. Please don't recommend i "try" something else because i am doing everything else as well. Thanks guys

Hi Claire,
Article marketing can still work if the articles are high enough quality - but if they are high enough quality it would be more beneficial to submit them to a high authority niche site rather than one of these directories.
I tend to go with a 90/10 rule - 90% of my content goes on our own site, and 10% are guest posts on a blog with a strong reputation that will earn trust and authority. I think your time might be better spent writing one really great post for a really great site rather than 10 decent posts for directory sites.
Good luck!

I agree with Alice. Time would be better spent these days looking for other places to post that content, that is not to say article marketing is worthless completely, but I don't put enough weight into it myself to spend the time when I could use other tactics that would get better results.
