SEOmoz Toolbar - Am I the only one who figured this out?
-
I have been using the SEOmoz toolbar for a while. In the course of a day, and with so many projects going on I end up having about 15-20 tabs in Firefox open at once. Because of the toolbar, my browsing session slows to a crawl and I hate to disable the toolbar because then I have to shut down the 10 projects I am working on. I usually close down my browser when I can't take it anymore and it feels like I am browsing on my 1990's palm device.
What I decided to do is install the toolbar on Google Chrome. I don't use this browser very often so now whenever I need to check out a website, I just use Chrome instead of Firefox.
Maybe there is a way to turn off the toolbar that I don't know about. Any other toolbar tips?

Are you sure it's the seomoz toolbar? Do you use any others? In the past, Firefox has been a bit of a memory hog, maybe it's still the case? It could be happening with 20 tabs open regardless of what toolbars you have installed.

If I disable the moz toolbar and restart Firefox, I don't have issues. If I keep the toolbar running with multiple tabs, session browsing gets progressively slower.
I think what happens is that the toolbar has to check page rank, domain authority.. etc so when you are doing general browsing, that slows down your session. Firefox does give memory low indications sometimes but can't tell if that's because of the toolbar working away or not. Haven't run those tests.

I have up to 40 tabs open in firefox and a machine with only 2GB of RAM and the seomoz toolbar installed and there is no slowing down due to the seomoz toolbar it must be being caused by something else!
