Worpress Tags Duplicate Content

I just fixed a tags duplicate content issue.  I have noindexed the tags.  Was wondering if anyone has ever fixed this issue and how long did it take you to recover from it?  Just kind of want to know for a piece of mind.

So did you get hit by a penalty...which is drop in Search Engine Keyword traffic ? Do you still rank for a lot of keywords ? Are there any other things beyond the tags pages that you see as potential issues for duplicate content within your blog ? IMO, that may not be the only reason for drop in search engine rankings.

It's difficult to comment without looking at the exact scenario.

I don't think I got hit went a penalty or anything.  But possibly, would I have a warning in my WHT?  However, my traffic did drop 66% from organic traffic. I did run a SEOMoz crawl on my site and it found 78 duplicate pages.  These were all the url.com/tag/title here.  I checked my Wordpress plugin in and my seo plugin had everything checked but my "noindex for archives tags".
