Have you verified the site in Google Webmaster Tools and checked for any notices there? That's the first step I would take.
-
Hi Keri,
Thank you so much for your response.
The site is verified and there are no messages in Webmaster Tools or warnings or anything.

Just by taking a quick glance, I see many issues.
First of all, Speed. (Something wrong with the setup)
http://www.lifestyleblinds.com/home.php?cat=" />
I'm getting reports of many broken links.
The logo link to the home page goes to /home.php
Google has indexed 1,260 links with X-cart in the url: http://xcart.lifestyleblinds.com/Roller-Blinds-Karunda-Cream.html
Internal links have "?click=srclick" in the url: http://www.lifestyleblinds.com/Vertical-Blinds-Rustica-Cream.html?click=srclick
I would recommend CDSEO (An SEO Toolkit built for X-Cart) http://www.websitecm.com/x-cart-mods/cdseo-pro-x-cart-seo.html

Hi Brent,
Thank you for comments.
I have thought it was a more technical SEO issue. I have spoken to a few SEO companies in the UK who keep stating that its all about the links and content etc, and although i know its not perfect it was clear to me that there were some technical SEO issues to be addressed.
We already have a form of SEO module in the admin section but i will be looking at your suggestion for the SEO toolkit today.
Should I be looking for a more Technical based SEO company?

Hi Brent,
I have taken your advice and bought the software. MY developers will have it installed this week.
Will this fix the technical issues related to SEO or are there more that need to be addressed?
-
I think that will fix a lot of the issues. But one major issue that you should address is all the duplicate content with the xcart. in the url. (looks like it was your dev area). Make sure you kill that subdomain and have Google remove all the links in Webmaster Tools.
Let me know when you have the CDSEO implemented and I can rerun a site scan.
Also, Jon with WebsiteCM (CDSEO), is very good to work with and will help out with a lot of technical issues with X-cart. So don't be afraid to ask him questions.

Its being implemented on Thursday, so i will definitely let you know once its done. I have also informed the developers about the duplicate content/urls.
I really appreciate your advice!

Hi Brent,
Hope you're doing well.
I've had a lot of work done on the site relating to the speed and had CDSEO installed and is enabled.
I've looked through the URL's suggested by CDSEO and they are certainly different to what I would have thought best practice would be.
The other issues you mentioned are being completed early next but a lot of them have been fixed.
I was wondering if you wouldn't mind have a quick scan and seeing if we are on the right path?
-
Are you sure you have the cdseo module enabled?
-
Its fully enabled now and a whole raft of glitches and errors have been fixed. I would really value you taking a quick look to see what you think.

Looks good. A few things. I would add links to your XML sitemaps in your robots.txt file. And I would try to get rid of the"?click=srclick" in the urls.
