What equipment do i need to edit a broadcast to put on you tube

Hi, i have been sent a cd with a radio programme on and i need to use a fraction of that disc to put on you tube but not sure how to do this.

I am going to put it on you tube as well as on my site but the problem i have is, i have been sent the whole of the radio broadcast and the section i need is half way through the programme.

Can anyone let me know what equipment or programmes i need for windows to be able to edit the disc and put it on you tube

All Windows based softwares for this type of work are expensive so there is no point in spending a lot of money only for a short session. if you do this often they you can consider the Adobe editing products that are indeed really good - easy to work with and with great features but again, only if you do work a lot on this type of tasks / projects.

Otherwise I would suggest elance.com - this is a market place and here you can find audio / video editors that can do this job for small change.

You should pay attention to feedbacks and past jobs developed by the provider so you can build your expectations properly. (price, quality etc)

If you're just after something easy and free to edit the audio, then a program like Audacity will do the job. - http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

If you want to turn it into a simple video cheaply, then Microsoft Movie Maker is free and can do most simple video jobs you might want. Do a google search to find the install if you don't already have it installed

thanks for this. i have podcast factory put away somewhere, it was something that someone gave me a couple of years ago, will this do the job. will look at movie maker as well.

Just checking that you have approval from the radio programme to redistribute this audio to YouTube. They are known to take down material that infringes copyright, would hate to see you spend a lot of time only to have it taken down.
