From starting an ongoing monthly link building campaign how long is it before you should start seeing results in serps

        That depends upon....

        - how many links you are building

        - the quality of the links

        - who you are competing against

Some SERPs require nothing more than page optimization... others have strong, well established competitors with millions of links.

To move up you have to be building more links / higher quality links than the people above you.  There are markets where you could build a lot of links every month and see lots of sites passing you.

          Thanks I understand

let’s assume my competitors have about 150 links better than i have at the moment.

I am building links mostly of the same quality or above that of my competitors at a rate of about 40 per month along with 50 or so lesser quality links like directory submissions etc. per month.

            Thanks for that info...

Assuming that your competitor is sitting on his butt doing nothing.... then you should have him beaten in six months or so - maybe sooner.   From my experience good links take effect quickly.  I have seen my pages move up in rankings within a few days after getting a really good link.

            Good luck.
