      Hi People,

So I got a My Blog Guest account (paid) and have now for a while, I do back the service as its a great system and works well BUT mods are making it very hard work.

I put up around 20 articles a month on this site which costs me £300+ to have produced by a professional copywriter and the standard is very high, I get feedback from bloggers commenting on how good the articles are because of the quality of the content (articles are 500 - 550 words).

So all I ask in return is 1 link in the body and 1 link in the byline.

I ask the copy writer to put a particular keyword somewhere in the content where it best fits, if its a top 5/top 10 article the keyword sometimes fits best in the first few paragraphs before it flows into the list.

This is where the problem is:

Now these articles are good, they have to be as there for a company with products in major high street retail stores so quality is not an issue.

If I put the link in the first paragraph I get these kind of responses:

"Linking from opening paragraph is rude to say at least"

If I put the link in the second paragraph I get these kind of responses:

"Please move your body link to the bottom of the article or better the byline"

"The normal procedure is to Hide articles with links in the first few paragraphs like this one...Please edit to put the link in the second half of the article"

"Links should be in the second half of the post"

Then the articles are taken down until I do what they say!

It's my article I can put the link where I want its up to the blog owner whether they want it or not, its not the content you want to administrate its the quality of the blogs, I got users private emailing me asking me to buy links, I've got users applying for articles where there using blogspot and wordpress free sites with content scrapped from the web.

I think they got bigger problems then a link in the second paragraph and not the third.

I see your point regarding it being your article and therefore you can choose to place a link anyway. However, I'm afraid there is very little we can do here to help you get more posts approved at MyBlogGuest. Perhaps you can find a way to get in touch with one of the moderators, maybe via Twitter?

          Thanks for reply,

This thread was set as a discussion, this is the experience I am currently having with the system, maybe others using the system don't have this problem?

I have a free account there and have no problem getting my articles published with 1-3 links each, anywhere I want them at.

I have only had one person ever decline a link. And he was on there looking for free content. When I sent him the article he said no links allowed unless I pay

While you are pretty much free to do whatever you want at the forums (there people arrange things while discussing them), the Articles Gallery is editorial which means we are responsible for the quality of the articles we allow there.

I think I have said that a thousand times: the higher quality content, the higher quality the offers! So no matter what it may look, we moderate the gallery for you (we have no other reason to).

Now to the links. Let's be honest, we only hide articles where the link looks particularly dirty. You do not pay the blogger for placing that article - why do you want the link to look like it was paid for?

You have lots of freedom in your byline but please the in-body linking should be natural and modest.

Asking for payment is not allowed at MyBlogGuest. You should report that user to us. We don't want other users to suffer from him

                      Thanks for reply Ann,

Like I said before the service is a great idea and brings (some fun) to link building with added benefit of generating some relevant traffic if you hit the right blog.

See when I first signed up I was putting 2 links in the body, I was told this looks spammy so add 1 link in body and 1 link in byline.

I went back to the copy writer and told him this, so now he has produced 20-30 articles with one keyword in the body which I can link out with.

Most of these articles contain this keyword in the first few paragraphs, not because im greedy and want the link as high up the content as possible but because when your writing this level of articles in one niche you have to start writing top 5 / top 10 lists and its easiest to put the keyword in the first few intro paragraphs.

I will go back to the copy writer and ask him to do one paragraph at the bottom of each article and put the link in there.

So 1 link in bottom paragraph and 1 in byline, as long as the content is ok will this be sufficient?

The user is [redacted by admins]. We spoke through PM then he asked me to email him the article. When I did he emailed me back asking for money so I pmed him on the site saying no thanks I will use it elsewhere.

Many of our rules are getting somewhat stricter while we are getting feedback from the publishers. We don't want our blog owners to leave because they come across spammy articles, right?

Also, try to understand them: bloggers don't want to feel used! Everyone wants to see an effort behind the article.

So yes, please, let's not be greedy and try to give our dear publishers what they want. In the end of the day, that's them who make our platform attractive, isn't that?
