External Links

Hi Marcio,
This is very common in the affiliate marketing world. The URL will redirect to an affiliate with the affiliate's ID. If you look at a site like http://www.pokeronline.co.uk/, they're doing this - the link out to http://www.pokeronline.co.uk/Visit/pacificpoker.html 301s to http://www.888poker.com/?sr=399458&flag=0000 (just using this as an example, found via Google).
If you're the site receiving the link, you're better off having a direct link rather than a link that goes through someone else's internal redirect (or any redirect, for that matter). You lose some PageRank in the process, just like you do with any 301.
Cheers,
Jane

Thank you Jane, actually I have a customer that ask me to put all their external links this way.
Ie, linking to a page of his website and this page redirects to the other websites.
I'm looking read opinions about what kind of benefit or harm it might cause, since I don't have any formed opinion about it.
