Can someone please give me links to the most valuable tools that I can use to quickly find the most important keywords (highest # of google searches) for my niche. I know of google adwords tool, wondering if there is something better. Thanks

I don't think there is anything better for estimating traffic than the Adwords traffic estimator. That being said you should use the keyword difficulty tool as it will also give you an indication of whether targeting any given keyword is worth the effort.

For keyword research I like to use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool.

I have also used Market Samurai in previous roles which is a great tool for analysing the whole market for that keyword e.g. competition, back link sources however it is a paid service.
