Using structured data for reviews - for negative or warnings.
Hello Robert, That I know of there is no micro-data markup for your specific need. However, you should be able to use the review rating for now. You can show the skull and crossbones or happy faces or whatever you need to show to the user, and then use the Rating or AggregateRating schema to translate that into what Google needs, which is essentially a number range from 1-5. These would show up as starts in the SERPs, but you could show them with whatever icons you like on your website.

EKomi widget and Schema.org
You mentioned 1 result from the site and 1 from ekomi, which is not weird, the same review of the website on both the website and ekomi is the norm. What are the other 8 to get to 10 results?

Blocking Reviews by Blocking Words?
I believe that for Facebook and Twitter you can only block profanity. I agree, it is a terrible thing to have to fight negativity on SM. Some people would say try to fight the negative reviews by offering free stuff or simply publicly apologizing. I would say remove the negative comments if possible. I don't think you can remove the reviews though. The example I kind of live by is the BBB. No matter how many negative complaints you get, you can keep a good reputation and rating by resolving the problems. If the in house customer service team can't fix the issues, and they don't make it to the boss except through Social Media, maybe this will be the eye opener to get things progressing.

Do schema review numbers have to be manually updated?
Are you using a WordPress theme or a custom site theme? Let's use this flow as an example: User comes to your site and views a product User submits a review to the product Manager approves the reviews through the CMS The review shows up on the product page When the review shows up on the product page, your site probably generates that once the review is approved by a manager. The site generates some HTML and sticks in the review. That HTML generated should include the schema markup for the review. Same with your products, if you push a new product into the site it generates a product page. Within that page's template should be the markup auto-generated (if it is built into the theme). Does that help? You can PM me your site and I will take a look to be more specific.

How to get star ratings from Google Places to show up for my site in the SERP
Here's the official info on review snippets, if you don't have them set up: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/146645?hl=en Keep in mind that setting up the microdata is not always sufficient. Google is still going to look at the authority/quality/etc., of the page, and rich snippets are often query-dependent (you don't get them on every search just because you got them on one search). For most sites, though, the microdata is a good start.

Is Moz Local any good? Any better Alternatives?
I'm with you Jim! The power of Yext (IMO) is that they are actually publish the data right away throughout their partner network. Yext also aggregates to a few directories but that is kinda just icing on the cake. I still haven't tried Moz Local yet. I might give it a shot someday here in the near future. Cheers!

Customer Reviews & Message Boards
IMO.. Regardless of the age of the reviews, when you respond in a professional, understanding & helpful manner, this will help new visitors/potential customers to see that you care, and take the time to engage in the reviews left about your business. Good or bad, reviews are helpful to both potential customers as well as the business itself. As the business owner, this helps us understand how we can improve our service/product/customer support. I would go in and leave a reply to all reviews, Good & Bad and regardless of the age. It will only help the users. Good luck SEOSnyder!!

Star Ratings Showing in SERP
Hello MXRSEO, You're correct, this is achieved with the correct markup / microdata and using Google's rich snippet testing tool will verify you have the tags set up properly. You can also go into Google Webmaster Tools and use their highlighter feature to try and get it to show that way. You'll then need to wait to see the site reindexed and remember, Google doesn't have to use that microdata in their SERPs and will often omit some of it. You can see the amount of 'structured data' Google has collected right through GWT too.

Panda Question on Aggregated Testimonials - Need Input
Well, there are a lot of sites that aggregate reviews. But they're generally adding some sort of other value. I wouldn't actively try to spread the same review. Content gets scraped every day, why pay for something that's going to happen anyway? That's my general take on things like this. Looking into the situation a little deeper, I think this particular effort is about rep. mgmt. The first thing that has to happen is actually fixing the issue, or issues, with the business. No matter what's done, traditional approaches to reputation management are just a bandage if a real problem exists. What you can do instead is something similar to the Reputation Management Workout section. It's a pretty good overview of how you can generate real reviews. Once those start coming in, you can iframe them or use them as an image. I've seen a case, here on the Moz forum, where a site appeared to drop considerably after including reviews on their site. I'm not 100% sure that was the root cause, but it was also the only change. So if you're feeling feisty, you can try it out and let me know. That particular site was using Schema markup for an aggregate rating without the other reviews. So you can see there are a lot of possible ways to do this inappropriately. Actual, unique, reviews that are properly marked up should be kosher in HTML form. Just be careful to avoid general review spam/schema spam.

Bzzagent good or bad?
Thank you Ruben. I was a little leery of bzzagent because I learned that initially, they told their agents not to reveal that they had received merchandise for free. Even though they have changed this policy to one of disclosure, the corporate mindset is something I'm not comfortable with. So, yes, I agree with you, why take a chance. To answer your question, yes, I am looking into getting reviews on products that don't rely on free merchandise, and if they do, there must be not only full disclosure, but preferably no backlinks - and if there are any backlinks, the nofollow attribute be used. Best, Gary

Yelp Review From My Customer Removed
I didn't ask my customer for a review. She was so happy with our service that she did this on her own and then told me about it. That's how I know it was placed in the filtered area on Yelp. I don't bother with Yelp at all.

Google Places
Hiya, Doesn't look like a verified listing to me, also a couple of +1's wouldn't hurt though the two 1 star reviews will hurt a bit. If you're being super picky you could look into optimizing your quote text currently "BMW Sydney - Driving People" I would recommend using your Google + page to create a used community page the local page would follow shortly after as they are tied in. Currently I see two unused Google plus pages for BMW Sydney would recommend using one a bit more. There are also lots of guides for local here on Moz if you have a look about. Good luck.
