  • Certainly and thanks! They chose Bigcommerce so they wouldn't need to worry about security and cart features along with updates that may be needed in the future and not implemented quick enough that it causes a site issue. It's not a huge company so time is better spent on customer quotes since that seems to be what generates leads along side providing the proper information to answer all issues that a user has as redundantly as possible. ( even then it's hit or miss it seems ) They have used magento, opencart, and I believe a few others but have been happiest with BG. But from a SEO and backend developer standpoint, it's kinda a giant waste of time, since logs out after weird idle times, has a limited backend use mainly css and html, minor room for js use without overloading pagespeed since bg uses a good bit of js themselves. And no ability to use custom php anywhere...( pouts ) But looking at it for what they need, it's pretty much the whole package, They didn't want to worry about servers or the security, updating and basically everything a web admin would be handling anyways.

  • I agree with Peter, I'm having the same issue with code that we changed over a year ago and that is still showing up as errors in Google Search Console. Hopefully that wouldn't cause any issues anyway as they're just errors or warnings from Google.

  • Make sure then that whatever backlink building you do, it'd be for domain.com/language, not just domain.com

  • Hi John! In order to get you an answer that directly relates to what you're trying to do, would you be able to give us more information about your goals with this? As in, what sorts of pages, specifically, you're intending to implement lazy loading on? And as Sergey asked, is it for the site to load faster for users? For overall user experience?

  • That lead me to the right direction! Got it all working with price excluded in the rich snippet, still validating as a product with reviews, sku and description. My solution.. Create following directories: wp-content/themes/[your_theme]/woocommerce wp-content/themes/[your_theme]/woocommerce/single-product Create price.php and ad it to /single-product Ad this code to the custom price.php if ( ! defined( 'ABSPATH' ) ) { exit; // Exit if accessed directly } global $product; ?> get_price_html(); ?> // Jonas

  • As long as you return 404 this is good. But the question is "why search results in CMS are indexed?". And answer of this is "Joomla". I will keep them as 404. But there are other 404 pages there: http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/download.php?f=tombolis-article.pdf <- http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/download.php?f=tombolis-article.pdf http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/download.php?f=ethicare-dental-ad-april-2009.pdf <- http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/download.php?f=ethicare-dental-ad-april-2009.pdf http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/download.php?f=ethicare-dental-ad-may-2008.pdf <- http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/a-one-stop-shop-for-oral-health-needs/ http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/download.php?f=how-i-did-it.pdf <- http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/how-i-did-it/ Few domains that didn't exist anymore: file:///Z:/Clients/Current%20Clients/Ethicare%20Dental/Articles/JULY%20ARTICLES/Is%20the%20new%20best%20toothpaste%20in%20the%20world%20all%20its%20cracked%20up%20to%20be.docx <- http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/is-the-new-worlds-best-toothpaste-all-its-cracked-up-to-be/ http://www.hypnotherapydunstable.co.uk/img/dentist.jpg <- http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/taking-the-fear-out-of-a-trip-to-the-dentists-chair Few 301 that i would skip: http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/orthodontist -> http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/orthodontist/ http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/hygienist -> http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/hygienist/ http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/finance -> http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/finance-and-guarantee/ http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/zoom-tooth-whitening -> http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/tooth-whitening/ there are much more i just show 3-4 examples. And few more small issues. This is result of direct crawl now on site. If there was link as: http://www.ethicaredental.co.uk/blah-blah that i can't see it now anymore and it return 404 now. I would 410 it to prevent deleting them over and over from SearchConsole.

  • I ran my Hreflang testing tool for your URL and got these results: https://app.hreflang.org/results.php?runid=12cf3a998a6fa864dd2a5ca02bc4bbdc20160204192756 So what Peter said is correct. And if you need to make changes and test again, you can use the tool again.

  • Hi Guys, Can you please check that I now have the code correctly on the site? http://www.cobaltrecruitment.com/ The errors are still appearing for some reason in Webmaster Tools. Thanks,

  • I'm interested to know if this resolved your problem. I'm having the same issue, but with tags. Some of my WordPress blog posts have 4 or 5 tags, and Moz is flagging this as 4 or 5 cases of duplicate content.

  • Hi, Make sure that you check your site with a tool like ScreamingFrog to find out if there are any URLs on your site that will still give a 404. If that's the case make sure to fix them. Otherwise you should be able to mark them as fixed as answered before. Martijn.

  • Can you redirect the old help pages to the new help pages? Or are the old pages still present because people are still referring to them for old versions of the software? Do you have any flexibility to change the help page Content Management System or coding? The HTML frames being used are antiquated and a waste of your time to try and support. Can you edit the HTML of the subpages that are within the frames? Those HTML pages have sections and you should be able to set the <title>within them like any other HTML page. They will possibly get indexed with URLs such as <a href="http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015/help-en/memoq_help_title_page.html">http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015/help-en/memoq_help_title_page.html</a> even though they will get redirected to <a href="http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015/help-en/index.html?memoq_help_title_page.html">http://kilgray.com/memoq/2015/help-en/index.html?memoq_help_title_page.html</a>.</p></title>

  • Category pages are useful to help users browse deeper into your site; however, I doubt you are seeing significant SEO impact from not having your category folder in your product URLs. In general, it's usually better to keep a page at the same URL rather than to move it, and having a slightly more "SEO-friendly" URL wouldn't provide enough SEO benefit to be worth the risk and hassle that moving all of your product pages would take. I think it's fine to leave it how it is.

  • Hi Mike, I would suggest you add both versions of your website to the search console (i.e. www and non-www) and then set your preference to whichever you like, so that Google knows which one your prefer to be the main domain. I would also suggest shortening the URL, because it does look too long. Maybe you'd want to put the author of the quote instead of the actual quote or shorten the quote somehow. I'm pretty sure that you guys may publish some quotes with even more characters in the future which is going to be even longer than the existing one. Hence, I would rethink the URL structure. In regards to the rankings, don't worry just now as it really takes several weeks to get updated. Many Thanks, Dima

  • Yes I absolutely agree with EGOL. If the domain/page authority is good I would rather have a do-follow link.  But on the other hand if that is not possible and the brand/domain is mentioned in context then I would be happy that is a signal for Google.  Maybe small but still part of the mix.
