Google Places Question......
In my opinion, what you are describing is the same business model as a plumber or carpet cleaner who operates out of his home. He serves all clients remotely - none come to his home office. So, if the client lists the home address and phone number and then chooses the hide address function, that is signalling to Google that all work is handled remotely, but that in-person contact does take place, in compliance with the guidelines.

Selling Domain,,,,, OOOOPPPPPPsssss!
Hi David, At the end of the day a domain is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Sedo.com is a domain broker and it is in their best interest to get the most they can for a domain hence prices are slightly inflated on that site. Just because your domain is only 4 letters doesn't mean it is worth big money. Several 4 letter domains sell on Go Daddy auctions for only a few hundred dollars. Although the domain is aged, which will help to increase its value, it doesn't really have much commercial value behind it and so is not really worth that much. Also, having checked opensiteexplorer the domain doesn't have a lot of authority or links pointing to it so to be fair it isn't worth the several thousands you are asking for it. Adam.

Problem with duplicate content
Hi, there are several ways to solve this issue: Go to Google Webmaster Tools and go to Configuration>Configuration and click the url that you prefer. Use 301 redirection. Add the urls you don't like to your robots.txt you should learn more about these 3 technics before applying one of them. Cheers !

Link Structure & Duplicate Content
Hi Steve, I have seen several similar pages go unnoticed by Google in terms of duplicate content but it is generally good practice to create content that is unique and provides value to visitors. Without seeing your site and just by what you have said, I doubt you have any major duplicate content issues to worry about. That being said, if you are trying to adhere to a quality SEO campaign then why not just create good content for your department and service group pages? You are missing out on valuable SEO benefits by just regurgitating snippets of content from other pages. I would perhaps focus on creating content that provides value to your visitors for those pages and then you won't have to worry at all about duplicate content. Adam.

Link Profile, is the keyword ratio too high?
Hi Ian, I would have to agree that it does look like your backlink profile may have contributed to your recent drop in rankings. The recent Google update, as rightly stated by Jordan, has centered around over-optimization. This has meant that many sites which have focussed on creating links with mainly commercial anchors such as 'nutritional therapy' or 'nutritional therapist' have been hit hard by the latest algorithm update. Rob Kerry produced a really interesting Whiteboard Friday recently, where he talks about the over-optimization of anchor text. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-penguin-update-whiteboard-friday Having looked at your backlink profile I would suggest that you focus on building more brand specific anchor links (http://www.nutritionmission.co.uk or Nutrition Mission) as these look more natural than the large number of commercial anchors you currently have. Adam.

Asking to remove links from other sites
Hello VIncent, You can simply email the webmaster to take down your link, I am sure most of them will honour your request. Secondly and most importantly, how do you conclude that these are the only 4 links which has attracted penalty during penguin update? If you entire link profile is natural and good , you don't have to be worried about it, but in your case you need to check your entire link profile and do in-depth analysis. IF you have 96 good quality links out of 100, 4 bad links are not going to impact you. Thanks, Dheeru

Google sitemap just for a part of site?
You can add multiple sitemaps in Google Webmaster Tools, that's not a problem. So you could, I suppose, add a sitemap of just your new pages. In my opinion though, I think you should just generate a new one at http://www.xml-sitemaps.com and upload and resubmit it. That would work just as well as a part sitemap. If your site is really large though, maybe the part sitemap is the right answer, but going forward you'll have to remember which bits appear in which sitemap so you don't have overlap or accidental omissions. Hope this helps.

IP ranges and matching WHOIS
I think what your asking, at a deeper level, if the really crappy SEO on site A can effect site B, through some form of administrative relationship. Is this correct? If there is a lot of questionable linking between the sites, you can see some negative effects. (if there is no linking relationship between the sites, then the answer is almost always no) I agree with Alan completely that changing servers, IP address and all that doesn't effect the issue that those links still point to your website. Changing the host or other administrative associations of any of these sites likely would have zero impact on any penalties. First, you want to determine if site A really is the problem. Is it Panda? Is it Penguin? Make sure to match up the dates of your traffic fluctuation with historical algorythm changes. http://www.seomoz.org/google-algorithm-change We seen a lot of site-wide cross linking, with over-optimized anchor text, as a key root of a lot of recent Penguin penalties. All of these penalties have a lot of factors that could be the cause, so I'd make sure to look everywhere, including the links between the sites.

Why aren't certain links showing in SEOMOZ?
Thanks - I just looked up our site (www.trophycentral.com) on Google and see many of the missing likes. My guess is that it is mostly a timing issue. SEOMOZE is helpful because I can see the ratings and overall estimate, so I guess over time I will look at a few sites.

Relocating Real Estate Agent - Redirect?
Hi Dan, As Anthony has mentioned, 301 redirecting is likely the best way to go, and of course, because you are changing locations, you will need to ensure that you've changed all of your local business citations to reflect your new locale. This will be very important to do as thoroughly as possible.

Summarize your question.Sitemap blocking or not blocking that is the question?
I use Screaming Frog SEO Spider (free version) to check the internal link structure of a website. If a page is blocking ALL spiders it will pick it up. Another thing I would say would be to check in Google Webmaster Tools to see if there are any crawl errors. And the last thing I would add is to make sure that you have a non-JavaScript way to find all the pages on your website - through strong internal linking or a manual sitemap page that isn't generated through JS. Hope this helps

Mobile redirect better to example.com/m or m.example.com
If your content is the same for the web and for mobile; and you're looking to simply "provide a mobile optimized design" for the display of your content, I'd recommend you use a custom style sheet for mobile traffic. You won't need to dramatically modify your subdomain this way. http://perishablepress.com/the-5-minute-css-mobile-makeover/ If the mobile version of the content is dramatically different than the "desktop" version of the content, in my opinion, using the "m." subdomain is a much more logical, common, and user-friendly approach than using the "/m/" subfolder. The folks at Google have addressed this issue here. A very common question we see is: Does it matter if the different types of content are served from the same URL or from different URLs? For example, some websites have www.example.com as the URL desktop browsers are meant to access and have m.example.com or wap.example.com for the different mobile devices. Other websites serve all types of content from just one URL structure like www.example.com. For Googlebot and Googlebot-Mobile, it does not matter what the URL structure is as long as it returns exactly what a user sees too. For example, if you redirect mobile users from www.example.com to m.example.com, that will be recognized by Googlebot-Mobile and both websites will be crawled and added to the correct index. In this case, use a 301 redirect for both users and Googlebot-Mobile. If you serve all types of content from www.example.com, i.e. serving desktop-optimized content or mobile-optimized content from the same URL depending on the User-agent, this will also lead to correct crawling by Googlebot and Googlebot-Mobile. This is not considered cloaking by Google. It is worth repeating that regardless of URL structure, you must correctly detect the User-agent as given by your users and Googlebot-Mobile, and serve both the same content. Don’t forget to keep the default content, the desktop-optimized content, for when an unknown User-agent requests it.

Are these 'not found' errors a concern?
Are they internal missing links or external missing links? If internal, then that would be a big problem. You can click on the link that will show you three options. Error details, in sitemap or linked from. Make sure none are from sitemap. If external, not so much a problem because it would be beyond your control as to who is trying to link to your site. My webmaster tools show missing links all the time from outside sources we have nothing to do with. I usually just contact the source and ask them to remove the link, or if its from a semi quality site Ill ask them to fix the link and give them the accurate url. I would make sure you have a 404 error page setup for any bad urls linking to your site. Hope this helps.

404 Error from site - is this normal?
I went to the main site and it is a page set up with just the domain name, looks like there is no real website with links. Looks suspicious for sure. Thanks for helping! I will investigate this further.
