Redirection based on country and impact on rankings
Hi Hannah, Thanks for this this was what i was looking for in terms of advice. I was only a bit skeptical about having an australian site that ranks as well as a uk site on page one. and if they are both giving out the same info how useful would this be. The linkbuilding shouldnt be too difficult. Thanks for your help! Prav

Implications of multiple page descriptions?
It could be seen as spammy by some anal search engines. Why would you want to do it anyway?

Do the search engines penalise you for images being WATERMARKED?
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2009/11/pros-and-cons-of-watermarked-images.html "Will Google rank an image differently just because it's watermarked? Peter: Nope. The presence of a watermark doesn't itself cause an image to be ranked higher or lower."

Moving to Dynamic IP
Thanks Russ, Our target geo locations include not only UK though London is a priority targeting. We have some sections focused on other regions and that's the main reason why I don't want to set up region in WMT. For most important kwds we have first positions in local search which give us significant traffic. I want to be sure that we will keep the positions before making any changes.

Found a Typo in URL, what's the best practice to fix it?
Thank you Dan! Wordpress 3.4 did have some redirecting features. but it didn't correct typos so our solution was just fix the URL, changed all the internal links and used 301 direct using an example here http://www.squidoo.com/301 If anyone facing this problem, here is your answer!

Google Alerts almost never alerts me to my own pages being added.
I have found Google Alerts to be really unpredictable. I have one set up for my url and for months I got no alerts. They recently started coming again, but if I add 20 pages in a week I may get 2 alerts. It's very sporadic!

What the Panda are we doing wrong?
Based on a few Panda related issues I've worked on and manage to get traffic back I will post a few ideas bellow. Hopefully it will help or at least bring some new ideas to the table. 1. Panda is related mainly to content. Even if there are several other signals that gets into play - content is the major issue. 2. Also related to content, having thin pages into the index is a no-no. I've manage to get traffic back (almost to the same level as prior to the drop - around 90%) just by setting a lot of listing pages to no index and merging some thin content pages. 3. Duplicate content is a major element associated with Panda. As a starter you have http://www.themepartner.com/index.php and http://www.themepartner.com without a 301 redirect. Maybe you have more duplicate content. Screaming frog is a very good tool to check this out. 4. Affiliate issues and other issues (seo related) are not related with panda. Separate manual action or algorithmic action (filters) can be set but not related with panda. There is a very small percentage that a separate automatic filter was applied in the same exact date as a Panda update (not impossible but highly unlikely). Site speed, quality overall, social signals are important as you know but not related with Panda. Another good idea is to get some fresh content on the majority of pages - if possible. Another idea - just an idea though - get rid of some of the boiler plates from the site have a better unique content on each page. Just a few ideas - hope you can find some ideas.

My .htaccess has changed, what do i do to avoid it again...?
Before you changed the file back did you see the last time it was modified? might give you a clue what happened. As Alan said check other files have not been changed (malware/hacked) again checking the modified dates gives you a clue ( files you know have not been touched having a recent modified date, all the files having the same modified date... etc)

Do we know if inbalanced anchor text distribution also applies to internal links?
That's a good theory. It's not like I've loaded internal links in every other sentence of every blog post. I only did it where it would help the customer by giving them more information. Between all my blog posts, I think each post ranges from 0-4 links, 4 being a rare occasion, one or two being the most common. I guess I'm not too worried, since post-penguin we are now #1.

Build links to / or without ./ on root
Hi! Basically Google treats urls with a "/" on the end as folder and without a "/" as a file. For sub-folders you should decide what format to use. www.domain.com/blog OR www.domain.com/blog/ Then make a 301 redirect (best) or put a canonical link to preferred version. For linking to your start page I would just go to without the "/", It doesn't really matter there imo. More info from Google http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.se/2010/04/to-slash-or-not-to-slash.html
