  • Thanks Stephen, Since june I am using long tail keywords  and url as an anchor text. It's hard to find pr3 dofollow. I am working more in creating Infographics, and social media like facebook , twitter , stumble and pinterest.

  • Hi Phil, Shopify's response regarding your query is correct and it also going to solve your duplicate product  page error as you have inserted their suggested canonical tag in theme liquid file. I have just checked your website's "Affinity Bathroom Suite"  page, canonical issue its working fine now it.

  • I don't have that much idea about Sharepoint but I know that SharePoint automatically generates canonical URLs. The only thing that you have configure is the query string parameters that you want to exclude from the canonical URLs. This can be configured in the Site Collection SEO Settings. Hope this help.....

  • That really depends on why the one site is ranking higher.  Is it's content better?  Google doesn't really care about how nice the site looks, but real  people do. If you are just now launching a website for your company/organization, it is probably advisable to have only one or you will be competing against yourself - your competitors will reap the rewards.  Keep the domain that is performing better. Do some searching about 301 redirects when you move to one site.

  • I would make a very small mobile site (even if it is a single page) because there is thought that Google is liking mobile sites - particularly of local searches.

  • It depends on the content in my opinion. It would be ideal If you could cover a topic and conclude with a max of 2000 words but If you cant, I would break it up into parts or chapters that you could maybe publish over a few days . There are pro's and cons to both, but In my opinion, keep it to a max of 2000 words per page.

  • It's pretty easy to create a favicon.ico file. Favicons can be many sizes from 16x16 to 64x64 and, since you just want to get rid of your 404 results, I suggest going with 16x16 to start. This website is great for creating one without much work. Otherwise, you can use any image editor to create a small image and then rename it to "favicon.ico". Whichever method you use, I suggest creating a favicon that looks like your logo much like SEOmoz has done with theirs. Once you've created your favicon, upload it to your server. Edit: I should also note you can remove the reference to the favicon.ico file altogether. To do this you would remove the following HTML from your webpages that are producing your 404 errors: <link rel="<a class="attribute-value">shortcut icon</a>" href="favicon.ico" /> Your second 404 looks to be from a missing script that is often used to present Flash content. This file is also generated when you use Dreamweaver to create a webpage that includes Flash. You can either remove the call to that script from the HTML or look for a copy of the file online and upload it to your server.

  • I know this is an old post, but when I tested that link in the rich snippets testing tool, it doesn't appear to have valid markup. So until that is fixed the photo won't show ....

  • It will make an impact. I have had authorship set up for months now and it has made a difference to click-throughs.  Basically I have more traffic now than before.  And I believe this is partly due to the photo in the SERPs. We put an authorship plugin together for WordPress as we needed to implement authorship on our own sites and client sites.  It's free - you can try it if you feel you can't or don't want to do it manually.  http://www.authorsure.com.
